Needs Assessment for Table Grape Program | Needs Assessment for Table Grape Program My name is Joy Hollingsworth, and I am the new University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Table Grape Advisor for Tulare and Kings Counties. You may have met me previously when I served as the UCCE Soil Quality and Nutrient Management Advisor for Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties (2019-2022). I began the new grape advisor position last May. I am reaching out to ask for your help in learning about the challenges faced by grape growers in the San Joaquin Valley. My goal is to develop a program that serves your needs. The information you provide will have a direct impact on the types of educational and research projects that I pursue. Participation is voluntary, but it will help me better serve the viticulture community if you can take this survey, which should take less than 5 minutes of your time.
Please complete the survey by April 7th, 2023 by going to https://ucanr.edu/grapesurvey2023

Vineyard Nutrition Survey | A message from Gabriel Torres: A multi-institutional research team involved in the HiRes Vineyard Nutrient Management Project seeks to understand current vineyard practices and the technologies that may be used for improving nutrient management practices. They invite all commercial grape growers, consultants, and vineyard management companies from the wine, table, raisin, and juice grape industries across the US to complete a survey. The survey will gather input on what, how, and why nutrient practices are used in vineyards. Make sure your state and grape sector are represented--participate today!
To complete the survey, go to https://beav.es/JRk.
If you have any questions about the survey or the research, please contact Patty Skinkis, Oregon State University, or Markus Keller, Washington State University.

Vit Tips Survey - June 2020 | Vit Tips Survey: Dr. Elisabeth Forrestel and her team from UC Davis are studying water management during heat wave and hope to find the best strategy on irrigation during heat event to improve yield and fruit quality of grape. Heat events are usual for San Joaquin Valley area during summer. She hopes to get some feed back from growers on some key issues, like water. As part of this work, we’ve developed a general survey to better understand the types of irrigation practices growers currently use in response to heat extremes. This will help inform how we frame future research questions around the potential effects of our experiments on irrigation. We recognize that the survey questions and response options are painted with very broad brush strokes and that the realities of grower decision making around irrigation are more nuanced, and want to stress that this survey is meant to provide a 30,000 foot view. In order to ensure that our survey is representative of a wide cross-section of growers and operations across the state, we are reaching out to ask for your participation in the survey as a viticulture professional and to ask that you forward the survey link to your networks of growers, vineyard managers, consultants, advisors, and other viticulture professionals. The survey should only take about 10 minutes to complete. It is anonymous and all individual responses will be kept confidential, though we may share the aggregated results in presentations or publications.
The survey can be found here: shorturl.at/ainU4 |
